Armenia to screen 2 Iranian films

The 14th edition of the Rolan - International Film Festival for Children and Youth in Armenia has set to screen two Iranian titles.

The Iranian films accepted into the competition program of the Armenian event include ‘Wild Jonquils’ by Rahbar Qanbari and ‘Yeva’ by Anahid Abad.

‘Wild Jonquils’ is the story of a teacher who decides to go to neighboring villages to convince all the parents to send their children to school, otherwise the school would shut down if the required capacity is not fulfilled.

‘Yeva’ is the story of a young woman who is forced to flee Yerevan with her daughter Nareh. She would have to stand trial there because she allegedly killed her husband.

Uncle Ruben and the remote village in Nagorno-Karabakh are her last chances to go into hiding. But the villagers recognize her from the days of war when she had cared for the wounded as a doctor at the front.

The 14th edition of the Rolan - International Film Festival for Children and Youth is slated for November 6-10, 2018, in Yerevan, Armenia.
